About us

About us

Move to Gothenburg is a collaborative initiative that aims to attract and welcome highly skilled internationals, and get them to stay and thrive in the region long-term. The initiative is run within the framework of a regional platform comprising stakeholders from the business community, academia as well as city and region.

The initiative started in 2016 and during its first two years has developed and implemented tools and activities, and has worked actively to improve the process for international talent via collaboration with authorities and influence on politics.

During 2018-2019 we will continue to develop and arrange both existing and new activities and tools. Our vision is that we will be one of the leading regions in the world for attracting and welcoming skilled international workers. On this journey we would also like to have more employers who see the possibilities and value of attracting international talent.

Focus areas 2018-2019

  • Physical and digital international centre
  • Coordination of authorities with a clear and effective process
  • Good preconditions for accompanying spouses and students to stay, thrive and develop
  • Further develop the portal and communication via social media and other channels
  • Influence the availability of housing and preschools/schools both short and long term

Collaboration partners

The initiative is financed and run through our Trustees and Partners. The Board of Trustees consists of representatives from every Trustee and makes decisions on the projects implementation and development. Our partners help finance the project and their representatives form the Advisory Board where they contribute important viewpoints.
