Whether you are commuting to work or keen to explore the region, there are many options for travelling around.
TRAINS, BUSES AND TRAMS
Västtrafik, which operates commuter trains, buses, trams and ferries, offers services for travel both within Gothenburg and across West Sweden (Västra Götaland County).
Sweden has a rail network spanning the entire country. Some of the main operators include SJ, NSB, MTR Express, Öresundståg and Blå Tåget.
Bus companies such as Flixbus and Nettbuss offer long distance and express services to numerous locations.

RENT A BIKE OR ELECTRIC SCOOTER
Bicycles (cyklar) are a popular mode of transportation, especially in urban areas. In Gothenburg, there are a few places where you can rent a bike including Bike Tour Gothenburg and Rental and Cykelkungen. The city also has a system called Styr&Ställ, where you can rent bikes from stations located throughout the city between 1 March and 31 December.
In Borås and Trollhättan you can rent bicycles through the tourist office. For more options do a web search using the terms “rent a bike” or “hyr cykel”, and include your location.
In Gothenburg, another option is to hire an electric scooter. There are a few companies that offer sharing services, including Voi, Tier and Lime. You can locate and access nearby scooters via the companies' apps.

You can either call and book a taxi, go to a taxi rank or hail a taxi out on the street. Some companies have fixed prices, but these can vary depending on the time of day and day of the week. Some of the companies operating in West Sweden is listed in the link list below.
Uber cars are also available in the Gothenburg region and can be arranged via its app.
