Mobile phones, internet and TV
Mobile phones and internet are often among the first things to arrange when moving to a new country.
Mobile phones
Mobile phones are widely used in Sweden. If you have a phone from your home country, it’s often possible to use it in Sweden with a Swedish SIM card. These are either pay as you go (kontantkort) or on a plan (abonnemang). Keep in mind you will need a personal identity number in order to sign up for a plan. If you need to purchase a new phone, providers offer a wide range of packages where you can buy the phone outright or pay it off monthly.
